In the last few years, Great Britain has been shaken by many unscrupulous scandals that have arisen the anger of people who see or perceive the iniquity of the system and the corruption within the elite classes. Some egregious examples are: the ones involving the former ‘Labor’ (1) Prime Minister Tony Blair and his fake statements on Iraqi chemical weapons to garner support for the bombing of that country and subsequent deposition of Saddam Hussein, or his questionable business dealings and escalation after he left the government. And others, like the progressive political dismantling of the NHS (the public health system of the UK) and the cover-up of MP’s expenses after tens of thousands of pieces of paperwork relating to claims made before 2010 under the scandal-hit regime were destroyed by Parliament in 2014; or the one in 2016 when British Prime Minister David Cameron, who was hosting an anti-corruption summit in London, was caught on camera telling Queen Elizabeth “We had a very successful cabinet meeting this morning, talking about our anti-corruption summit. Actually we have got some leaders of some FANTASTICALLY corrupt countries coming to Britain. There are no sort of closed-door sessions. Everything has to be in front of the press … It could be quite interesting,”- it is difficult to understand what Cameron really meant. Or more current scandals like the one affecting Prime Minister Theresa May’s husband’s interest in the weapons industry, property speculation and the rise of housing prices in last decades (2) and the subsequent biggest surge in poverty rates since the neoliberal government of Margaret Thatcher, the homeless crisis etc… These are just a few nefarious examples that have been exposed. But very likely none are so disturbing as the pedophile scandals and cover ups involving British elites: politicians, churches, institutions and the aristocracy. A phenomenon and a taste for children, it turns out, that is not at all new.

Here we publish a text on pedophilia in London written by Flora Tristan (3), a French-Hispanic South American activist and writer, published in 1840 in Paris, France, in her book ‘Promenades in London’ (Promenades dans Londres). The book was a great success and very influential in France and continental Europe (4); it had four editions at the time.
Flora Tristan lived in England between 1826-1831 and in 1838- 1839. She was mainly in London although she visited also Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield and some other mining centers. Her experience in the English capital began at age 24 and ended at age 37, when she published ‘Promenades in London.’
The French writer Hortense Allart wrote ”it is a book of pity and indignation in favor of the English people.”

”The English depravation produces nothing more hateful than those monsters of both sexes who tour England and continental Europe, launch their nets on children and then return to London to sell them to this virtuous aristocracy, and to those who got rich with trade. Girls they grabbed from the affection of their parents, exciting insidious hopes through atrocious lies or possessed furtively with the nets they launched on the girls.
Some of these agents frequent the accepted classes of English society. Those dedicated to the slave trade in the West-End often are sent to different small villages in the continent, in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy. They deal with the parents, promising the girls will have jobs like embroiderer, dressmaker, lingerie seamstress, musician, lady-in-waiting, servant, and similar to avoid suspicion. They even give advice to the parents, and when they get a certain number of girls, return to London.
The deep corruption among the wealthy and the high prices they pay protect and foment this vile trade. Talbot (5) says: ” in this West-End harem, new imported slaves are bought for between 20 and 100 pounds. And if one thinks over the luxury of those houses, their huge expenses, the expenditure for the agent’s travel, one can envisage that price is not exorbitant. When those girls, known by all regular visitors, don’t arouse the men’s desire anymore they are sent to second class establishments, and within a year or eighteen months, the miserable children die in an hospital or are abandoned to their fate in the streets.”
YOUNG ENGLISH GIRLS AND BOYS WERE VICTIMS AS WELL
”Most youngsters of both sexes trapped in these shameful and horrible hideouts have been taken while looking at shop-windows with indecent paintings. They (pedophiles) spend even 10 pounds to become the master of a young person.”
Talbot says that ”among the strategies used by those wicked houses full of vice and in order to meet the rising demand for younger children, they send 18 year old youngsters on the streets. They cheat the girls with flattery words, invite them to visit a relative, go for a walk, to the theater or they offer to them a good job… As soon as the girls are under their control, they sell them and their ruin is often completed by one of those perverted old men with white hair who pay huge rewards for them.”
”On the basis of the evidence I possess, says Talbot, there are more than 5,000 establishments and 2,000 promote debauchery with boys in London.” Talbot assesses there are between 13,000 and 14,000 young prostitutes in London, from age 10 to age 13, who are constantly replaced.
Hospitals are not enough. Evidently the annual demand between 8,000 and 10,000 minors for the lust of the rich fits in the Malthus system for the population decline and under this point of view the regent of the house of perversion is a respectable man, a useful man for the country.”
What is going on in the 20th and 21st centuries? The despicable scandals continue!
To make up your mind here you have some outstanding moments and facts of the pedophile inquiries involving the British Parliament, government and aristocracy and a few attempts by academics of normalizing it in the last decades.
1981. ‘Perspectives on Pedophilia,’ published by a serious academic imprint, Batsford, makes a strong defense of sex with minors. Edited by a Sussex University academic, Brian Taylor, it aims to challenge what Dr. Taylor’s introduction calls the “prejudice” against child sex. The book was aimed at “social workers, community workers, probation officers and child care workers.” Graham Powell, another contributor to the book, is now one of the country’s most distinguished psychologists, a past president of the British Psychological Society and a current provider of psychology support services for the Serious Organized Crime Agency, the National Crime Squad, the Metropolitan Police, Kent Police, Essex Police and the Internet Watch Foundation.
1983. Conservative MP Geoffrey Dickens sends a 40-page dossier to then Home Secretary Leon Brittan detailing alleged child abusers within the British Establishment. It contains the names of Cyril Smith and other senior politicians. Mr Dickens tells his family “This is going to blow it all apart.”
1984. Home Secretary Leon Brittan writes to Dickens to say the dossier has been assessed by prosecutors and handed to the police.

1990. Sir Peter Morrison, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s parliamentary private secretary and confident, is caught more than once molesting underage boys but manages to avoid being charged and prevents his exposure to the press. Morrison was first exposed as a serial child abuser in 1998, three years after he died from a heart attack.
1995. Mr Dickens dies with knowledge that no arrests or prosecutions have ever been bought as a result of his dossier.
2007. Starts the Jersey child abuse investigation in the island. The inquiry heard how children were being loaned out to people, taken on yachting trips… Many care children were sent to Jersey from local authorities in England and perhaps we will never know how many children entered and left care in Jersey. The report found that for decades children in care had been failed at all levels, enduring systematic and cruel abuse, most of the offenses occurring at the notorious Haut de la Garenne children’s home, where a cruel regime of neglect, physical, emotional and sexual abuse was described, with children being pulled out of their beds in the middle of the night and never seen again. A testimony by ex residents of the home talked of one child being chased by abusers through the building, then believed to have been thrown or fallen out of a top floor window.
Sir Edward Richard George Heath, the man who led the Conservative Party from 1965 to 1975 and Britain into the European Community in 1973, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1970 to 1974, often visited the island and took children from care houses to his yacht. Some witnesses stated some children were missing there. “But the police weren’t interested. In the 70ies people were scared and corruption was rife,” said one witness. “About two or three days later I ran into an officer. I asked the police officer what had happened and his exact words were: ‘‘I have been told from above that I was not allowed to investigate it. It was the defense department that would not allow it.” In those days the defense department oversaw the police department.
2012. Labor MP Tom Watson claims during Prime Ministers Questions in the House of Commons that there is “clear intelligence suggesting a powerful pedophile network linked to Parliament and No.10,” the government headquarters.
2012. Scotland Yard confirms that Operation Fairbanks has been set up to examine allegations surrounding Elm Guest House in Barnes, South West London, where it was claimed prominent men, including politicians, abused young men in the 1970s and 1980s.
2013. Cambridge University holds a conference about Pedophilia. ”Pedophilic interest is natural and normal for human males,” said the presentation. “At least a sizeable minority of normal males would like to have sex with children … Normal males are aroused by children.” Another attempt by parts of the academic establishment to push the boundaries on the acceptability of child sex.
2014 – At least 114 files on child sex abuse allegations made in the 80s come up missing, including the 1983 dossier handed over to the Home Office by the late Conservative MP Geoffrey Dickens. At least 114 files! Current Prime Minister Theresa May is accused of cover-up over child abuse inquiry.
Curious enough, Theresa May’s father, Reverend Hubert Brasier, developed his carrier within institutions where pedophilia and even murders were committed. In 1940s’ he joined the priests at the Community of the Resurrection Seminary School in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. In years to come the Community of the Resurrection would become known for the systematic sexual abuse of children at the seminary by the Italian Verona brothers, who were rampant sex offenders in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
In 1953, Theresa May’s father became the Chaplain at Eastbourne Hospital in Sussex and over the next 6 years he would work alongside the famous serial killer Dr. John Bodkin Adams who was administrating to his old patients lethal injections after convincing them to put him in their wills. On review more than 165 of the deaths that Dr. Bodkin Adams oversaw were seen as suspicious. Most of the nurses had voiced their concerns to their superiors. It is believed they have been ignored on purpose. Adams was being protected by Lord Gwynne who was believed to be his secret gay lover, and was an extremely well connected politician. Theresa May’s father would have given last rites to many of those killed by Adams, he may have even taken confession from Bodkin Adams himself.
In addition, as chaplain of Eastbourne Hospital Hubert was under the Chichester Diocese of the Church of England. During the 1960’s til the 1990’s this diocese had some of the worst examples of child sexual abuse committed by priests. Perhaps these allegations are false and there is nothing to see in his life. Yet – it seems – just after Theresa May took over at No.10 her campaign team started to request the deletion of web addresses linked to Hubert Brasier. If you were to go to Wikipedia and type in Hubert Brasier there will be no results.
2017. Prime Minister Teresa May is challenged in parliament about repeated warnings to her that party whips were using information on sexual abuse by their MP’s to blackmail them.
2017. Labor MP Chris Bryant makes a shocking revelation about royal family members covering up sexual abuse by a high ranking member of the clergy at the House of Commons.
2017. Some documents are hidden from the Cyrill Smith child abuse inquiry for security reasons by the government, reveals Labor MP Lisa Nandy. Cyril Smith was a Liberal Member of Parliament. As early as 1970, Cyril Smith, was found by the police to have “used his unique position to indulge in a sordid series of indecent episodes with young boys towards whom he had a special responsibility.” No action was taken, and Smith was allowed to carry on abusing children for most of the rest of his life. In 2012 the Crown Prosecution Service revealed they considered allegations against Smith in 1970, 1998 and 1999 but rejected them on each occasion. After his death, numerous allegations of child sexual abuse by Smith emerged, leading the police to believe that Smith was a serial sex offender. He is alleged to have sexually assaulted boys at children’s homes.
”What were we faced with in the nineteenth century? An age where you could buy a thirteen-year-old girl for a few pounds—a few shillings, if you wanted her for only an hour or two. Where more churches were built than in the whole previous history of the country; and where one in sixty houses in London was a brothel . . . . and flagellation so rife that a Frenchman set out quite seriously to prove that the Marquis de Sade must have had English ancestry.”

1. It’s extremely difficult to identify Tony Blair’s politics as socialist or left-wing. Some have accused him of being an infiltrated. Not surprisingly Blair has been supporting the idea that Jeremy Corbyn is a ‘danger’ for the Labor Party and Great Britain.

3. Flora Tristan (1803-1844) was a French-Peruvian socialist and feminist writer and activist. Her best known works are ‘Peregrinations of a Pariah’ (1838), ‘Promenades in London’ (1840) and ‘The Workers’ Union’ (1843). Tristan was the grandmother of the painter Paul Gauguin.
4. ‘Promenades in London’ (1840) describes England in the first half of the 19th century. Flora Tristan writings pioneered Marxist ideas. Flora Tristan founded in Bordeaux, France, the Workers Union, and paved the way for 1848 first proletarian revolution. The same year Flora Tristan died in Bordeaux, in 1844, Karl Marx (1818-1883) met Friedrich Engels in Paris. They wrote the Communist Manifesto in 1847.
5. M. Talbot was in charge of the Society for Suppression of Vice, a 19th-century English society dedicated to promoting public morality. It was established in 1802 as a successor of the Society for the Reformation of Manners and continued to function until 1885. The Society in order to prevent child prostitution presented it’s inquiries to a Parliament Committee and the London Metropolitan Police in 1836, 1837 and 1838.
